The Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) Program is a 9-week program funded by the National Science Foundation that enables students to actively participate in research concerning the implications of a changing global climate on coastal environments. This summer, the students will compare marsh/beach ecosytems of Long Island with mangrove/beach ecosystems of Bimini, Bahamas. The students and their mentors will spend two weeks in Bimini conducting fieldwork and will share their experiences here.
